Common Report Codes:

Problem: The Digital Panel Says “See Retailer for Assistance,” “Please Wait,” or “Insert Key Counter.”

Cause: The remote counter is off, or the vend price has not been met.

Solution:

  1. Double check that the remote counter (the black box with a red switch, usually near the register) is in the “on” position. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
  2. Verify the vend copy price point is met.

Problem: The Digital Panel is Reporting Code J16, J31 or J32

Cause: The copier is jammed.

Solution:

  1. The digital panel usually shows you where the jam is located. Clear the jam as indicated on the digital panel.
  2. If you can’t find the jam, turn the copier off for about 10 seconds and turn back on. If that doesn’t clear the jam message, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Problem: The Digital Panel is Reporting Code F34, F35 or F36

Cause: The copier is having a problem with the fusing unit.

Solution:

  1. This is occasionally a false alarm. Try turning the copier off for about 10 seconds and turning it back on. If the code doesn’t clear, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Problem: Copies are Suddenly Blurry or the Digital Panel is Reporting Code F41, F42, F43 or F45.

Cause: The lens may not be resetting to the correct position.

Solution:

  1. Try turning the copier off for about 10 seconds and turning it back on. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Problem: The Copies are Light, but the Copier is Not Asking for Toner

Cause: The machine needs service.

Solution:

WARNING: The copier will indicate that it needs toner when the toner needs to be replaced. Never “top off” the toner or load it unless the copier indicates that it needs toner.

  1. Call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Problem: The Copier has No Power

Solution:

  1. Make sure the copier is on and plugged in.
  2. If that doesn’t work, make sure the copier is plugged into the power strip and that the power strip is plugged in and turned on. Most copiers are plugged into a power strip located in the supply cabinet. If copier still doesn't have power, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

  • F23: Toner Motor Fault
  • F26: Toner Density Abnormality
  • F28: High-voltage Power Source Putting out Abnormal Discharge
  • F34: Fusing Unit Temperature Too High
  • F35: Fusing Unit Temperature Too Low
  • F36: Fusing Unit Sensor Abnormality
  • F41, F42, F43, F45: Optics, Lens or Mirror Possibly Out of Correct Position
  • F52: Main Motor Fault
  • F53: Drum Drive Motor Fault
  • F54: Fan Motor Fault

Solution:

  1. Try turning the copier off for about 10 seconds and turning it back on. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Report Code J11: Upper Right Side Cover is Open

Solution:

  1. Check right side Cover 1 to see if it is open. If so, close the cover. If it is not open, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Report Code J12: Lower Right Side Cover is Open

Solution:

  1. Check right side Cover 2 to see if it is open. If so, close the cover. If it is not open, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Report Codes J16, J31, J32: Paper Jam

Solution:

  1. The digital panel usually shows you where the jam is located. Clear the jam as normal. If you can’t find the jam, turn the copier off for about 10 seconds and turn back on. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Report Code P20: Improper Connection of Drum Unit or Toner Level Sensor

Solution:

  1. Try turning the copier off for about 10 seconds and turning it back on. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Report Code P25: 300 Copies Have Been Made Since the Add Toner Display First Came On.

Solution:

  1. Add toner right away.

Report Code P27: Improper connection of Toner Density Sensor

Solution:

  1. Try turning the copier off for about 10 seconds and turning it back on. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.

Report Code P51: Front Cover is Open

Solution:

  1. Close the front cover of the copier.

Report Code P81: On/off Switch at the Remote Counter is Turned Off or Vend Price Has Not Been Met

Solution:

  1. Double check that the remote counter (the black box with a red switch, usually near the register) is in the “on” position. If that doesn’t work, please call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
