- “Misfeed” Light is On, but No Paper is Stuck in the Copier
- The Copier Has a Paper Jam
- Copier Jams Every Time it is Used
- Machine is Not Ready to Copy (the green light on the
print button is not on) - There is no Power to the Copier
- The Copier is not Feeding Properly
- Just Added Toner to the Copier, but the “Add Toner” Light Stays On
- The Copier will Print only One Copy, But is Set for Multiple Copies
- “Maintenance” Light in On, but Nothing Else is Wrong with the Copier
Problem: “Misfeed” Light is On, but No Paper is Stuck in the Copier
Solution:
- Remove both cassettes.
- Check cassette slots for jammed paper.
- Check paper to make sure it is loaded properly.
- Make sure paper is held under the paper cassette claws.
- Re-insert both cassettes.
- Open and close front cover (to reset).
- If problem persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: The Copier Has a Paper Jam
Solution:
- Open the copier’s front cover.
- Pull the release lever to open the main body while holding the top of the copier.
- Remove any jammed paper, being careful not to touch the drum surface.
WARNING: Touching the drum surface can damage the drum. - Close the main body securely by pushing down on the center of the left side of the copier.
WARNING: Never push down on the original holder. Doing so could break the contact glass. - Close the front cover. The paper jam indications will go off and the copier will reset.
Problem: Copier Jams Every Time it is Used
Solution:
- Open copier’s front cover.
- Unlock release lever to open up the machine.
- Close machine with both hands, being sure to push down on the front and back until both the front and back lock into place.
- Close front cover to reset.
- Check both cassettes to make sure paper is loaded properly. If problem persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: Machine is Not Ready to Copy (the green light on the print button is not on)
Solution:
- If the light on the print button is flashing red, the front cover is not closed. Open then close the front cover.
- If the light on the print button is solid red, check for other warning lights. Open then close the front cover.
- If there is no light on the print button, check the digital copy counter display. If the display says “U1,” the remote counter switch is off. Turn on the remote counter switch. If problem persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: There is no Power to the Copier
Solution:
- Check to make sure the copier is plugged in. If it is plugged in, proceed to
Step 2. - Test the electrical outlet by plugging another device into it. If the other device does not work, proceed to Step 3.
- Plug the copier into the other outlet on the same plate (outlets are usually arranged in pairs). If problem persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: The Copier is not Feeding Properly
Solution:
- Remove both paper cassettes.
- Check cassette slots for jammed paper. Remove any jammed paper.
- Check the paper to make sure it is loaded properly.
- Make sure the paper is held under the paper cassette claws.
- Re-insert both paper cassettes. If problem persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: Just Added Toner to the Copier, but the “Add Toner” Light Stays On
Solution:
- Open and close the copier’s front cover. This will activate the toner motor, which will remain on for a few minutes.
- If the “Add Toner’ light is still on after the toner motor stops running, open and close the front cover again to repeat the process. This procedure can be repeated up to three times if the “Add Toner” light stays on. If problem persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: The Copier will Print only One Copy, But is Set for Multiple Copies
Solution:
- Check the “Add Toner” light. If it is on, the copier needs toner and will only make one copy at a time.
- Add Toner, if required. If problem still persists, call 1-800-877-2679 for service.
Problem: “Maintenance” Light in On, but Nothing Else is Wrong with the Copier
Solution:
- Service is not necessary at this time: The light automatically comes on after every 20,000 to 30,000 copies. The maintenance technician will reset it the next time the copier is serviced.
